We are pleased to introduce Theresa Lindenau as our newest team member at Formescent Architects. While she earns her intern hours and pursues the path toward becoming a licensed architect, she will have a vital role working on all of our projects, from design phase through construction documents. We are happy to welcome her to our team and look forward to creating vibrant projects together.
Theresa recently earned her Master's of Architecture from Montana State University and is excited to begin her career in Bozeman with Formescent Architects. She has studied in Western Europe and traveled to many different regions in the US. While pursuing her education she worked for the University Architect at Campus Planning Design and Construction and collaborated with Martel Construction to design their construction office, an adaptive reuse of four shipping containers on campus. While in grad school she earned awards for diversity in research, sustainable design and historic preservation (follow this link for more info on her awards).
Before moving to Montana Theresa grew up on a rural log homestead in Olympia, Washington where she lived a stones throw from old growth forests and marine habitats. She developed an innate respect for the wilderness and her design philosophy is driven by how site and context can uniquely shape a project. Her work is influenced by local tradition and strategies found in the vernacular architecture of the industrious people that settled this valley. She believes the Montana landscape, history and people offer plenty of inspiration for expression through design.
When she's not helping our clients, Theresa enjoys painting, snowboarding, backpacking and sampling local cuisine.
